Tripoonithura N. Radhakrishnan born in Trippunithura on 24 October 1957 as the 3rd son of Late Tripunithura G. Narayanaswamy (Retd. Mridangam Instructor of RLV College of Music & Fine Arts, Tripunithura) and Late T.V. Alamelu Ammal in a family of rich musical heredity.
Stepped in to this music field through his father, who was his first Guru. He is also the disciple of Prof. Parassala Ravi and Padmabhooshan T.V. Gopalakrishnan.
He started accompanying leading musicians from the age of 11. He has been on stage with great vidwans like late Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, Semmangudi Sreenivasa Iyer, M.D. Ramanathan, Maharajapuram Santhanam, Madurai Somasundaram, Dr. S. Ramanathan, Dr. M.L. Vasanthakumari, Padmashree K.V. Narayanaswamy and Neyyattinkara Vasudevan. He has also accompanied Veena Vidwans like late Shri. Chitti Babu and Padmabhooshan K.S. Narayanaswamy.
Has been accompanying Padmabhooshan K.J. Yesudas in his Carnatic Music Concerts for the last 45 years all over the world. Also accompanying great musicians like Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, Padmabhooshan Lalgudi Jayaraman, Padmabhooshan T.N. Krishnan, Padmabhooshan M.S. Gopalakrishnan, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Padmabhooshan T.V. Sankaranarayanan, Dr. N. Ramani (Flute), Shri. K.S. Gopalakrishnan, Padmabhooshan T.N. Seshagopalan, Padmashri. Kadri Gopalnath, Padmabhooshan T.V. Gopalakrishnan, Mandolin Maestro Padmashri. U. Srinivas, Shri. Ravi Kiran, Shri Sashank, Shri. Ganesh Kumaresh, Shri. Sanjay Subramaniam, Shri. T.M. Krishna, Shri. Unnikrishnan etc. and also for other present day leading musicians.
In 2017, as Tripoonithura N. Radhakrishnan completed Fifty Four years of his musical journey, he was awarded the title ‘Laya Nipuna’ at his hometown. In the following year, he received ‘Laya Poornima’ title at Thrissur. As part of World Yoga day and World Music day celebrations 2018, Tripoonithura Radhakrishnan had the opportunity to perform at Brussels for the esteemed audience of Hon. Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Tripoonithura N. Radhakrishnan running a music school “G.N. Swamy Trust Sangeetha Vidyalaya” near Poornathrayeesa Temple, Tripunithura for the last 21 years in memory of his father late G. Narayanaswamy for encouraging upcoming young talents. Lot of students and adequate expertised teachers are there in different faculties like, Vocal, Violin, Veena, Mridangam and Ghatom.
